Rental Policies and Procedures

Space Rental

Freehold offers three studios and a mezzanine for rehearsal and performance rentals. To secure a reservation, full payment is required in advance. Payments may be made online, in person, or by phone during office hours. The individual making the reservation assumes responsibility for all associated charges, fees, and cancellations.

For weekday reservations, cancellations must be made at least two business days in advance to qualify for a full refund or credit. For weekend and Friday reservations, cancellations must be submitted by 5:00 PM on Thursday to be eligible for a refund or credit. Cancellations that do not meet these deadlines are non-refundable and ineligible for credit. Unauthorized use of any space will result in a $50 fee.

Space Reservation and Payment

Reservations can be made online, in-person, or via email or phone. Please note that our office is closed on Fridays and weekends. To rent a space over the weekend, rental requests must be submitted by 6:00 PM on the preceding Thursday. Payments are accepted via cash, check, or credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express). A $2.00 credit card fee applies to all transactions under $10.00.

A $25 handling fee will be charged for processing returned checks. If a check is returned more than once, or if multiple checks are returned, all outstanding fees must be paid in full via cash or credit card before future rentals, class attendance, or registration will be permitted.

Maintenance

No tape other than theatrical spike tape is allowed on any of the floors. The renter is responsible for removing tape at the end of your rental, or you will be charged a $25/hour clean up fee. Please help us keep the studios and hallways organized and clean. There are trash cans in each studio and in our common areas. The furniture and props in each studio must match the posted list in each studio at the time of your rental ending.

Any damage to Freehold property (including furniture, props, equipment, etc.) or premises by a student or renter is the financial responsibility of that student/renter. Failure to keep studios clean (missing or extra furniture, failing to remove spike tape, or leaving behind trash) will result in a clean up fee of at least one hour.

Liability

Renters freely and knowingly assume all risk incidental to participating in rehearsal at any of Freehold's studios. Renters understand and accept that Freehold, its staff and faculty, are not responsible for injury to persons or property related to participation in rehearsals in Freehold's studios. As a renter, you hereby agree to indemnify, release, and hold harmless Freehold Studio/Theatre Lab, its officers, directors, employees, or agents from any liability arising out of or related to any activity, accident, or incident in rehearsal and/or on the premises.

Attendance and Behavior

Any student or renter displaying threatening, intimidating, violent behavior, or who brings a weapon onto or around the premises may be dismissed and asked to withdraw without a refund. Freehold reserves the right to refuse to register anyone who engages in disruptive or otherwise unacceptable behavior, including the use of illegal drugs or alcohol on or around the premises.

Our facility is equipped with ramps and a wheelchair lift. If you have any questions regarding accessibility, please contact us at info@freeholdtheatre.org.
