Introducing Randy and Natalie!

Randy Dixon
Managing Director

Randy Dixon is regarded as one of the most experienced improvisational artists in the field. In 1983, he was a founding member of Unexpected Productions, Seattle’s longest running improvisational theater company and was the company’s Artistic Director until 2021. During his tenure Unexpected Productions established a reputation of presenting high quality shows, classes and workshops. In 2006, Randy founded Orcas Island Project, a multinational group of twelve performers from ten countries. OIP develops, explores, and investigates interactive theatrical forms. They have performed in various locations around the US and Europe.

Randy has toured the world with his unique brand of improvisation. He has taught improvisational theater and acting in New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, France, Poland, The Netherlands, Finland and all over the U.S. and Canada. His approach to improvisation has been influenced by his studies and friendships with Del Close (creator of the Harold), Paul Sills (creator of Second City), and Keith Johnstone (Author of Impro). His book, Being Present: Spontaneous Storytelling and the Art of Improvisation has been published in German (as Im Moment).

Natalie Tachikabe
Finance and Operations Manager

Hi everyone! I’m Natalie, Freehold’s new Finance and Operations Manager. Some of you may have already seen me around but this is my official introduction to you all. I just graduated from SPU less than a month ago, and I’ve been in Seattle since my freshman year! I originally called Hawai’i home, but I’m slowly finding that the PNW is much more my speed.

I’m definitely not as much of an ‘arts’ person as some of the other amazing people here at Freehold, but I’m happy to bring my business and finance expertise to the organization during a time where so much change is happening.

Feel free to drop by and say hello — I’m looking forward to meeting more of Freehold’s community!
