Support Freehold Giving Week!

In order to further the impact of our 2026 Gala: engage your invisible, which will be held on June 13th at Mount Baker Community Club, we are launching a parallel campaign for people looking for alternate ways to contribute: Freehold Giving Week. By donating during Freehold Giving Week, you can help us continue to provide a home for theatrical training, experimentation, and creative risk right here in Chinatown/International District! No gift is too big or too small. Help us reach our goal of $10K!

What am I supporting?

Your help allows our Studio to offer a consent driven space where anyone and everyone can engage in the practice of theatre, rooted in organic truth. Freehold’s students are encouraged to move theatre forward, to transform, deepen, and clarify new ways of working. From introductory sessions for the curious to master classes for practicing artists, the Studio offers an extraordinary range of disciplines to help students develop a comprehensive understanding of craft and of embodied acting. We offer 15-20 classes on a quarterly basis serving over 600 students a year. 40% of these students receive financial assistance.

Your help allows our Theatre Lab to provide a forum for experimentation by professionals, the development of new performance material, and the rediscovery of classics. The Lab enables artists to explore new ways of working in order to forge a deeper connection between actor and audience, self and community, life and art. Programs of our Lab include Engaged Theatre, a program that tours productions to culturally underserved audiences and hosts theatre residencies in partnership with WA State Department of Corrections. Our Lab reaches 500 audience members annually. Last fall, our Lab premiered a new play, hidden/current, in Cape Town, which explored the global plague of gender-based violence through three interweaving stories.

Your help allows us to support artists. We employ over 40 artists, including faculty in our classes and teaching artists in our residencies, as well as over 20 artists for our most recent production, hidden/current.

Thank you for considering a donation during Freehold Giving Week to support our programs. We appreciate all you do for this community. And remember: tickets are still available for our Gala on June 13th. We hope to see many of you there.
